Neurodivergence During the Perinatal Period
Join Bobbi Barber, LMHC, BCBA, PMH-C, for this workshop exploring how pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood place significant demands on sensory processing, emotional regulation, and executive functioning- demands that can uniquely impact neurodivergent women. This workshop explores how the perinatal period often reveals, rather than creates, neurodivergent needs that may have been previously masked or well managed. Grounded in a neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed framework, participants will learn to recognize the hidden cognitive and sensory load many neurodivergent women carry while functioning well externally. The training emphasizes practical, compassionate strategies to support regulation, reduce overwhelm, and promote ethical, inclusive care during pregnancy and postpartum.
