Join Matthew Braman, LCSW, LCSW-C, PMH-C, for this educational workshop exploring the often-overlooked grief experienced by fathers and non-birthing partners following perinatal loss and reproductive trauma. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how cultural expectations around masculinity and caregiving can shape paternal grief following miscarriage, stillbirth, infertility-related loss, neonatal loss, and traumatic reproductive experiences. This workshop will introduce trauma-informed, evidence-based approaches for supporting grieving fathers and postpartum couples while exploring disenfranchised grief, relational dynamics, and the psychology of men in early fatherhood.

​This educational workshop explores the often-overlooked experiences of fathers and non-birthing partners following perinatal loss and reproductive trauma, with a focus on how paternal grief manifests and how clinicians can provide more informed, compassionate support.

This workshop will explore:

  • ​How cultural expectations around masculinity and caregiving can shape emotional expression, coping, and relational dynamics in early fatherhood and postpartum couples.

​This is an educational workshop that combines didactic teaching with applied clinical discussion. The session focuses on translating theoretical knowledge of paternal grief into practical, trauma-informed strategies for supporting individuals and couples.

Q: What if I don’t want to be on camera or participate?

​No problem. You can change your name on Zoom if you’d like, too.

Q: Will the workshop be recorded?

​Yes. This workshop will be recorded and made available for participants after the live session. [All Sunday Series recordings are available to members of the Trauma-Informed Maternal Health Network as part of their membership.]

Q: Does this count as therapy?

​Even though the workshop will be led by a licensed psychotherapist, it is educational in nature and not intended to replace individual or group therapy. Participating in this workshop does not constitute a client- therapist relationship in any way.

Q: I’m a provider. Will I receive CEUs?

Matthew Braman, LCSW, LCSW-C, PMH-C is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional. He is the Founder & CEO / Therapist of Verve Psychotherapy, a solo private practice guided by advanced training, specializing in paternal perinatal mental health and perinatal loss for men in early fatherhood and postpartum couples. With 13 years of experience and licenses to practice in five states (CT, GA, MD, NJ, NY), Matthew provides trauma-informed care using evidence-based practices to empower expecting fathers, new dads, grieving fathers, NICU dads, dads with fertility challenges, executive dads, sober-curious dads, and postpartum couples in their emotional and relational lives. His clinical interests include Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Relational Life Therapy, and the Psychology of Men and Masculinities.
